WNBC-TV's 2009 Holiday Sing Along

Skating on the rink is suspended this morning, as an NBC news crew from Long Island City sets up for shooting the annual sing along.

The fountains that surround the statue of Prometheus are turned off for a few hours so the station staff can stand on temporary risers.

The large white screen seen below is lit from behind to provide adequate lighting for the production. Even though it was a sunny day, at this hour there's not much direct sunlight that gets down to rink level.

Words to this year's song, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, are posted over by the steps, facing the singers.

Below, Chris Cimino, Yours Truly, and Jonathan Dienst, after singing "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" about a dozen times.

Many versions of the sing along were produced for airing on WNBC and WNJU over the 2009 Holiday season.
